Brentford have agreed a deal with Zulte Waregem to sign defender Henrik Dalsgaard on a three-year deal this summer.

The clubs have come to terms on an undisclosed fee for the 27-year-old, who Sky Sports News HQ revealed last month was a target for the Sky Bet Championship club.

Dalsgaard, predominately a right-back, has made three appearances for Denmark and leaves the Belgian club only a year after joining them from Aalborg.

Brentford head coach Dean Smith said: "Henrik is a player that we have been looking at for some time and someone we believe can improve the squad.

"We have watched him quite a few times and we like his qualities on the pitch. We also believe he has the right character to fit in to the squad and help us improve. I am looking forward to working with him next season."

The club's co-director of football Rasmus Ankersen added: "It is always nice to sign players early in the summer window.

"Having as much of the squad together at the start of pre-season as possible will only help us prepare. I would like to welcome Henrik to Brentford and look forward to seeing him as part of our training group when the players return next month."
