Rochdale midfielder Peter Vincenti has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

Vincenti, who had 12 months remaining on his existing deal, has put pen to paper to extend his stay at Spotland until the summer of 2018.

The 29-year-old joined Rochdale in the summer of 2013 and has made almost 100 appearances for Keith Hill's side since. He was part of Dale's promotion winning squad during his first season and was the club's second highest scorer during the 2014/15 campaign.

"One of the most important things is that I'm happy playing my football here. Ever since I came to the club I've enjoyed it," Vincenti told the League One club's official website.

"It's important to be happy with your work and I am at Rochdale. I enjoy it immensely and I'm happy to commit my future to the club.

"I'm looking forward to another few years here."
