Edinburgh City became the first club to be promoted to Scottish Leagues through the pyramid system after a 2-1 aggregate win over East Stirlingshire.

After a 1-1 in the first leg last Saturday, Dougie Gair was the hero for the Lowland League side; he held his nerve from the penalty spot three minutes from time after Reece Donaldson had been red carded for fouling Ross Allum.

The result brings to an end East Stirlingshire's 61-year stay in the Scottish leagues and they will now take Edinburgh's place in the Lowland League next season.

Meanwhile, Queen's Park booked a return ticket to the third tier of Scottish football after a seven-year hiatus, despite losing 1-0 to Clyde on Saturday.
