Dundee have signed Alex Harris on loan from Hibernian, with Martin Boyle moving in the opposite direction.
Midfielder Harris will spend the rest of the season with the Scottish Premiership side, while forward Boyle drops down a division for the same period.
Hibs boss Alan Stubbs says Harris remains in his long-term plans and the move has been sanctioned for the sake of the 20-year-old's development.
"We had shown an interest in Martin and Dundee were interested in Alex, so the loan agreement suited both clubs,” Stubbs said.
Dundee boss Paul Hartley said: "I'm delighted that Alex has joined the club, he is someone that gives us something different."
Boyle, who can play on the wing or through the middle, has scored once in 22 appearances for Dundee this season.
He said: "I’m really looking forward to playing for Hibs on loan – it has been brilliant so far. The manager has been first class and says he wants me to express myself.
"My objective is to help the team to go up into the Premiership and use my pace to create opportunities and to score goals."
