Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill wants to focus on Euro 2016 but is flattered that's he's being linked to the Celtic position.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill will not make a decision on his future until after Euro 2016 amid media reports linking him with Celtic.

The Parkhead job is available this summer when Ronny Deila will leave the club having guided them to their fifth successive Scottish Premiership title.

O'Neill has emerged as a contender for the post having secured a major tournament qualification for Northern Ireland for the first time since the 1986 World Cup.

I felt that the right thing to do for me was to commit to Northern Ireland leading into the finals and I don't want to do anything to take that special relationship away.

But the former Dundee United and Hibernian winger will put his full focus on the European Championship and avoid any distractions concerning his own career.

"I think part of [being linked with the Celtic job] comes down to the fact that I live in Scotland," he told Sky Sports Now. "There are a number of names that have been linked with that job and it is a fantastic job.

"I felt that the right thing to do for me was to commit to Northern Ireland leading into the finals and I don't want to do anything to take that special relationship away.

"I don't think it would have been possible for me to have that something in the back of my mind and be focused on making sure we do well.

"It's been 30 years since we've been there and I want it to be a positive experience for me, for the country, for everyone.

"If we perform well, it will enhance my reputation and then we'll see what happens after that."

A number of leading bookmakers suspended betting on the next Celtic manager market with several bets made on Republic of Ireland assistant coach Roy Keane, who is available at 8/11 with Sky Bet.

Former Everton and Manchester boss David Moyes and ex-Swansea and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers have also been supported to replace Deila at Parkhead.
