Outgoing Celtic manager Ronny Deila says he is delighted to finish the season on a high after his side beat Motherwell 7-0 at Celtic Park.

Ronny Deila was delighted with a "perfect" Celtic performance as he bid an emotional farewell to the club with a 7-0 win over Motherwell.

Deila's men were ruthless throughout at Celtic Park, and he was able to enjoy the acclaim of fans after the game when the Hoops were presented with the Ladbrokes Premiership trophy.

The Norwegian had confirmed last month he would be leaving the club at the end of the season and he said there was no better way he could think of to say goodbye.

Celtic scored three goals in a one-sided first half and added four more after the break, the final goal coming from record-breaker Jack Aitchison, who had earlier become the club's youngest-ever player at the age of 16 years and 71 days.

After the trophy presentation, Deila said: "It was perfect. It was like you had dreamed of.

"A very good performance, a young team out there who I think is the future of this club, it was 7-0, a sunny day as well, which is not often and a very good atmosphere as normal so it was a perfect ending for me.

"It is a very tough day. It is hard to speak about it to be honest. I am grateful to have been here. I learned so much in two fantastic years. I am going to enjoy the new life now.

Jack Aitchison became Celtic's youngest ever player and goalscorer at the age of 16 after coming off the bench to score against Motherwell

Aitchison was also struggling for words after his memorable debut, and he said: "It's just brilliant, an amazing feeling. I've been dreaming of this since being a wee boy.

"It was a great atmosphere when I scored; I didn't know what to do. Hopefully I'll get more opportunities."
