Jamie Murphy is set to undergo a medical at Rangers after the Glasgow club agreed a fee in the region of £1m for the Brighton forward, according to Sky sources.
Murphy is a boyhood Rangers fan and is set to become the club's first permanent signing of the transfer window, having already landed Sean Goss on loan from QPR.
The 28-year-old began his career at Motherwell and then had a spell at Sheffield United, before signing for Brighton in the summer of 2015.
He played a key role last season as the Seagulls were promoted to the Premier League but has appeared in just four top-flight games this term so far.
