Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson has confirmed Jake Hastie will not sign a new deal with the club after Rangers counterpart Steven Gerrard admitted his interest in the 20-year-old.
Robinson told a press conference on Friday that he believed Hastie had already signed a pre-contract agreement with another club ahead of the expiry of his Fir Park deal in the summer.
Hastie has scored seven goals in 14 games since returning to Motherwell from a loan spell at Alloa Athletic in January.
Motherwell would be due compensation for the forward, who came through their youth ranks and also had a loan spell last season with Airdrieonians.
Robinson said: "[Jake] won't for sign for me. I believe Jake's signed for another club but it's not for me to announce."
Earlier, Gerrard had been asked about his interest in the recent Scotland U21 debutant.
Gerrard said: "It's no secret that there's an interest there but until we get it complete, there's nothing really to say on it.
"I'm not going to sit here and deny it because obviously it's out there that there is an interest."
