McCulloch to miss openers

Three-game ban for Gers' red card man

Lee McCulloch's red card against Celtic on Wednesday means the Rangers ace will now miss the start of the 2010/11 SPL campaign. McCulloch's two yellow cards at the end of their Parkhead defeat mean he misses their weekend clash with Motherwell and the first two games of next season. The ex-Wigan man had already been booked when he made a sliding challenge on Bhoys winger Aiden McGeady late on that resulted in him securing another yellow card. However, Gers appear unhappy with referee Calum Murray after stating on their official website that McCulloch made "little contact" with the Republic of Ireland ace. Meanwhile, Kevin Thomson would also incur a two-game ban for the start of next season should he collect a three-point booking against Motherwell.
