McGhee also looks at Jones & Okus
Aberdeen have signed former Cardiff striker Josh Magennis on a free transfer.
The 19-year-old was released by Cardiff at the end of last season after two seasons at the Welsh outfit.
Magennis is Aberdeen's second signing of the summer and he will link with Northern Ireland team-mate Rory McArdle at the club.
Aberdeen have also taken young duo Ryan Jones and Conor Okus on trial as they look to bolster their squad.
Midfielder Conor Okus and goalkeeper Ryan Jones, both 18, will be put through their paces as the Dons return for the start of pre-season training.
Okus is a product of the West Ham Academy and was part of their youth team last season.
Jones was part of the Liverpool Academy before heading to Wigan and then Leeds United.
He made a number of appearances on the bench at Leeds last season before being released.
Dons boss Mark McGhee will cast an eye over the pair in training before deciding whether or not to pursue his interest in the duo.
