Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs has strengthened his squad with the signing of Finland U21 international goalkeeper Otso Virtanen.

The 21-year-old has moved to Easter Road from Finnish Premier Division side IFK Mariehamn on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Stubbs told his club's official website: "Otso is someone we've been tracking for a while and I'm delighted that we have concluded the deal.

"He is a 'keeper with lots of potential that we're looking forward to developing. I'm sure he'll be another positive addition to the first team squad."

Virtanen is Hibs' fifth signing during the transfer window following the arrivals of Chris Dagnall, Niklas Gunnarsson, Anthony Stokes and Kevin Thomson.
