Celtic midfielder Scott Allan will return to Hibernian in the summer after signing a pre-contract agreement.

Allan will be kicking off a third spell with the Easter Road club, having first joined them from West Brom in the summer of 2014 and then spending the second half of the 2017-18 season on loan in Edinburgh.

The 27-year-old was PFA Scotland Championship Player of the Year during his opening spell with the club, during which he made a total of 42 appearances.

A further dozen games under Hibs boss Neil Lennon came last season, a stint during which he scored three goals.

Lennon said: "It's no secret that Scott is a player I admire and wanted back at Hibernian.

"He's a player who suits the attacking brand of football we like to play. The type that gets supporters off their seats.

"We're looking forward to having him back."

Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster added: "We're delighted to have been able to come to a pre-contract agreement with Scott.

"It goes without saying that he's a player our supporters hold in the highest regard and we were determined to bring him back to Easter Road.

"It's an arena and a club that brings out the best in Scott and, from speaking to him, it's clear that that means a lot to him."
