Rangers v Hibs

Steven Gerrard insists he wants Scott Arfield to stay at Rangers as he prepares his side for Sunday's Sky Live clash with Hibernian.

Arfield has made 44 appearances in all competitions this season and has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer. Having signed Jake Hastie on the four-year deal from Motherwell, Gerrard is already looking ahead to next season.

"I don't want to lose Scott, it doesn't surprise me that clubs are interested," he said. "Every single player has a price but he knows very well I want him to stay here at Rangers."

Arfield himself admits he has not played as much as he wanted this season, but said he has no intention of leaving this summer.

"Over the last two years I haven't played enough football," he said. "But this is the happiest I have been in years playing here, wearing this badge and my family is settled here."

Another player to commit to the club is Steven Davis, who has firmed up a successful loan spell with a permanent deal until the end of next season.

"Steven Davis playing regularly, you can see him hitting top form and we are pleased for Steven. With a full pre-season under his belt he will be ready to help us challenge next season," added Gerrard.

"People are pushing for places all over the team, if you play well you deserve to keep the shirt unless we have a busy schedule and we need to manage players.

"We want competition for places. Jake Hastie is coming in to help us add answers in the final third. He is a young lad and we will need to treat him with patience. It is important to have a good mix of age and experience in the squad."

Rangers midfielder Ryan Kent, on loan from Liverpool, is unsure of his future after being nominated for Scotland's PFA Player of the Year

Gerrard also had words of advice for Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent, who has scored six league goals in 24 appearances.

"It is probably too early for Ryan to make a decision. Ryan knows we want him as do Liverpool but he will have a big decision to make as teams will be queuing up for his services. My advice to Ryan is to go where you will be happy."

With Rangers almost certain of a runners-up finish, Hibs themselves are unbeaten in 10 Scottish Premiership games and find themselves fifth, three points clear of Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

Team news

Ryan Jack is a doubt for Rangers with a potential throat infection and a late decision will be made on him ahead of kick-off.

Top-scorer Alfredo Morelos is available again after a four-match ban after elbowing Scott Brown in the 2-1 loss at Celtic on March 31, while Gareth McAuley will not play again this season after injuring his hamstring. Graham Dorrans (knee) is still chasing fitness but Jamie Murphy (knee) will have to wait until next campaign for his own comeback.

Hibs have no new injury concerns as they bid to extend their fine unbeaten league run.
