Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed Collin Seedorf, nephew of Clarence, on a two-year contract.
The Dutch right-back makes the move to the Scottish Championship side after his release from RKC Waalwijk in the summer.
The 22-year-old revealed that he spoke to his famous uncle, who won four Champions League titles in a career which included spells at Ajax, Real Madrid and both Milan clubs, before making the move to the Highlands.
"We had a little chat two weeks ago and I told him I think I am going for a new adventure in Scotland at Inverness and he said 'that sounds nice, go and do what you want to do and if it feels good, just go'," he said in a club interview on Facebook.
"Maybe if we get promotion, maybe I can arrange something and he can come and enjoy the party.
"I'm very delighted, I'm happy to sign for this club. When I heard about the club and this vision, I thought I want to play here and bring this club to where it is supposed to be."
Inverness were relegated from the Premiership last season, with John Robertson appointed manager for the second time last month, replacing Richie Foran.
Seedorf is their fourth signing of the summer, with George Oakley, Mark Ridgers and John Baird having already joined the club.
