Does Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo kick out at Real Betis' Francisco Molinero?

Real Betis defender Francisco Molinero slammed Cristiano Ronaldo for lashing out during his side's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.

Zidane's side suffered their first setback under his management as they were only able to muster a 71st minute equaliser, courtesy of Karim Benzema, after Alvaro Cejudo's first-half wonder strike.

Madrid dominated proceedings in the second half and when they were trailing the game Ronaldo seemed to lose his cool.

In the 55th minute Ronaldo appeared to kick his opponent in an off-the-ball incident at the Estadio Benito Villamarin which was not seen by the referee.

Molinero insists Ronaldo would have been punished if any of the match officials saw his Portuguese compatriot strike out.

"It was an ugly gesture by Ronaldo to kick out with his leg," Molinero told Canal Plus

"If the referee sees it, it's an act of aggression. I also give out fouls, I am not a saint, but the ball has to be there. Without the ball it is undue."

Molinero added that, despite the unsavoury incident, he was pleased with the way Betis handled their opponents on Sunday. His side are winless in eight but they picked up a second consecutive point under caretaker coach Juan Merino, leaving them in 14th place in La Liga.

He said: "We defended as well as we could. To take a point from this team is very good. We have to keep going with this mentality."
