Adidas have marked Lionel Messi's Ballon d'Or triumph by presenting the Barcelona star with a new platinum football boot.
The Argentina international stands alone with the most Ballon d'Or titles, two clear of Ronaldo and a host of footballing legends, including Johan Cruyff, Michel Platini and Marco van Basten.
For adidas, Messi's latest accolade cemented his place as the greatest player in the history of football and they have marked the moment with the launch of their new campaign called 'I'm here to create', a celebration of Messi's most jaw-dropping moments in football.
The German sports manufacturer have continued to honour Messi by presenting him with a new platinum boot designed for the ultimate creator, containing real platinum elements, never seen before on a football boot.
"Messi is the ultimate creator, and the platinum Messi 15 marks his other worldly achievements in football. Gold is for winners, platinum is for the greatest," an adidas statement read.
The platinum boot uses pearlescent Argentinian premium leather, enhanced with pure metallic platinum elements and features logos made out of real platinum.
The boot is embossed with four gold and one platinum embellished dots to commemorate Messi's record haul of Ballon d'Or titles.
The insole is marked with the Spanish phrase 'el más grande de todos los tiempos', meaning 'the greatest of all time'.
