Antoine Griezmann has sparked controversy on social media by posting a picture of himself dressed as a black basketball player for a 1980s fancy dress party.

The Atletico Madrid striker posted the photo on his Twitter account, captioned "80s Party" with a basketball emoji and a laughing emoji.

He was dressed as a Harlem Globetrotters basketball player and had blacked-up his face, arms and legs.

The image sparked a storm of negative responses, prompting Griezmann to post again shortly afterwards.
