New Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto has spoken of his delight at joining the Primera Division club, labelling his move to Europe as "a dream come true".

Vietto sealed his move to the El Madrigal earlier this week, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal after signing from Racing Club in his native Argentina.

"Coming to Europe is a dream come true and one that every player dreams about when he is small," Vietto said on the club's official website.

"It is a big step in my career and I hope to continue growing at this great club. What most motivated me to join Villarreal was I know they had followed me for some time and shown great interest in me. I hope to restore confidence and give much joy to this club."

The 20-year-old will be hoping to force his way into head coach Marcelino Garcia Toral's first-team plans and is confident he can adapt to the rigours of La Liga.

"The first thing I want is to adapt to this new league, which will be different from Argentina, and of course try to challenge for a spot on the team and help as much as I can," the Argentina Under-20 international added.
