Internazionale could win the Serie A title with a victory against derby rivals Milan next week following a 2-1 win over Cagliari. Roberto Mancini's Inter side maintained their six-point lead with a workman-like performance against Cagliari to set up a title-winning opportunity at the San Siro next Sunday. Julio Cruz headed Inter in front with his 17th goal of the season following a precise ball from Patrick Vieira and substitute Marco Materazzi then doubled the lead with seven minutes remaining as he nodded in a cross from Esteban Cambiasso. Davide Biondini netted a 90th minute consolation for Cagliari as his effort from the edge of the box was deflected in, but it was too little too late. Roma, though, continue their pursuit of Inter as they recorded a 4-1 win over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico. The home side cruised into a four-goal lead after only 32 minutes as David Pizarro opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 17 minutes and then Mirko Vucinic (20) and Alessandro Mancini (26 and 32) got their names on the score sheet. Nicola Ventola pulled back a 50th minute consolation for Torino as he headed in, but the match was to end in controversy as Roma defender Juan was handed a harsh straight red card. A Filippo Inzaghi hat-trick ensured Milan continue their hunt for a place in next season's Champions League as they swept aside Livorno 4-1 at the Armando Picchi. Inzaghi (23, 52 and 59) netted to hand Milan a comfortable lead and Clarence Seedorf then added a fourth on 70 minutes. Relegation-threatened Livorno made a fight of things and clawed one back as Dario Knezevi beat Zeljko Kalac on 72 minutes. Juventus recorded a crushing 5-2 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Delle Alpi to guarantee a place in next season's UEFA Champions League. Giorgio Chiellini put the home side in front after 15 minutes and Mauro Camoranesi then doubled the lead six minutes later. Alessandro Del Piero (32) then added a third before David Trezeguet netted a fourth on 33 minutes. Lazio then gave their hosts a scare as Rolando Bianchi, on loan from Manchester City, found the back of the net on 55 minutes and Sebastiano Siviglia (61) then scored a second. However, Siviglia's afternoon was then cut short with 15 minutes remaining as he was dismissed after collecting his second booking and Juventus made their numerical advantage count as Chiellini hit his second in the 88th minute. Sampdoria were grateful to an injury time strike from Daniele Gastaldello as they recorded a crucial 2-2 draw with European rivals Fiorentina. Cristian Maggio had fired Sampdoria in front on 63 minutes, however substitute Christian Vieri netted with 13 minutes remaining to equalise. Adrian Mutu then fired home from the penalty spot in the 88th minute to seemingly give Fiorentina the points, but Daniele Gastaldello hit the back of the net three minutes into stoppage time to record what could prove to be a vital point in the battle for a place in the Champions League. Parma have slipped into the relegation places as they suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Reggina. The visitors had taken the lead through a 25th minute Luca Cigarini penalty, but then Massimo Paci was sent off not long after the start of the second half as he collected his second booking and Francesco Cozza ensured the turnaround as he scored in the 55th and 64th minute. Empoli boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation as they recorded a surprise 1-0 win away to Genoa. Ignazio Abate found the back of the net on 15 minutes to hand Empoli a vital victory as they moved out of the bottom three. Udinese still have a faint chance of qualifying for next season's Uefa Cup as they defeated Catania 2-1 at the Stadio Friuli. Antonio Di Natale opened the scoring on six minutes, but Catania equalised 11 minutes before the interval through Juan Vargas. Fabio Quagliarella, though, then added Udinese's second four minutes later to secure the points for his side. Elsewhere, Napoli and Palermo both played out home stalemates against Siena and Atalanta, respectively.
