AC Milan have made midfielder Franck Kessie their second signing of the summer, beating out the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.
The 20-year-old moves to San Siro from Atalanta, who he helped to a surprise fourth-placed finish in Serie A this past season and netted scoring six goals in 29 appearances during his first season in Italy's top division.
He arrives on an initial two-year loan deal, while Milan also announced on their official website that they have an obligation to buy him outright at the end of the 24-month period.
Kessie follows Argentinian defender Mateo Musacchio in signing for the Rossoneri as they begin a major squad overhaul under new Chinese owners having laboured to sixth in the Serie A table during the 2016/17 campaign.
Ivory Coast international Kessie was also subject to Premier League interest, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal said to be tracking his progress.
However, the midfielder looks set to stay at the San Siro for the foreseeable future, putting paid to any potential moves from the English clubs.
