Under-fire Viola boss vows to turn things around

Sinisa Mihajlovic has vowed to battle on at Fiorentina, insisting that he will not step down from his post. The Serbian only replaced Cesare Prandelli at the Viola helm over the summer, but has seen pressure mount on his shoulders following a slow start to the season. Fiorentina have collected just one win from their six Serie A fixtures so far and are languishing in 16th place. Mihajlovic acknowledges that things have not gone to plan, but he is adamant that he will not walk away from a job he continues to give his utmost to. "I know how the world works and the fact that it's easier to replace one person than 11," the under-fire coach told Corriere della Sera.

Passion

"But my conscience is clear. I work with passion and give my best. I feel I have support behind me. "But if they were to sack me, I would have to accept it. One thing is certain, I will not resign." Mihajlovic is confident that Fiorentina can turn things around, starting with an away date at Sampdoria on Sunday. He added: "It's a mental problem. "I confess that I expected a better start from my team but I have not lost faith. We are in debt to our fans and will turn things around."
