Eintracht Frankfurt have exercised their option to make Luka Jovic’s stay at the club a permanent one, handing the striker a contract which runs until June 30, 2023.
Jovic had been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, as well as Barcelona and Bayern Munich among others.
Eintracht completed the deal for the 21-year-old on Wednesday, ahead of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg at home to Benfica, from whom Jovic had originally been on loan.
"Luka's development with us has been great to see," said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic.
"For us there was never any doubt about wanting to bring him here permanently. He's a player with extraordinary abilities. It's important for us to sign him."
Jovic arrived in Frankfurt as a 19-year-old in the summer of 2017 and scored eight goals in 22 Bundesliga matches in his maiden season in Germany.
This season the Serbia international has scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 27 league games, as well as chipping in with eight goals and one assist in 11 Europa League matches.
