Feyenoord thump Heracles, Ajax do likewise against Willem II

Roy Makaay and Luis Suarez both scored hat-tricks as Feyenoord and Ajax recorded handsome wins in the Eredivisie. Feyenoord were emphatic in beating Heracles 5-1, while Willem II endured an afternoon to forget in being thumped 7-0 at Ajax. Elsewhere there were wins for Vitesse and Heerenveen. At De Kuip Stadion veteran marksman Makaay was at his clinical best as his hat-trick helped Feyenoord ease to a win over Heracles. The Dutchman needed just four minutes to open his account and then made it two on 23 minutes with his second of the afternoon. Heracles briefly rallied as Bas Dost reduced the deficit before half-time but after the interval Feyenoord imposed their superiority on proceedings. Makaay completed his hat-trick on the hour mark before Denny Landzaat and Kelvin Leerdam both etched their names on the scoresheet. Ajax won by an even more handsome margin at home to Willem II as Suarez led the way with a hat-trick that included two penalties. Dario Cvitanich opened the scoring in just the second minute before Eyong Enoh added a second before ten minutes were on the clock. Cvitanich added a third before goals from Suarez and Urby Emanuelson saw them take a five goal advantage into the break. Ajax eased off in the second period, with the exception of Suarez, who added a further two goals. Willem's woes were exacerbated by Angelo Martin's red card eight minutes from time. Vitesse were away day winners in a five-goal thriller at FC Groningen. Lasse Nilsson opened the scoring for Vitesse but it was a lead they squandered before the break as Goran Lovre levelled. A pair of quick-fire goals after the interval from Civard Sprockel and Ricky van Wolfswinkel put Vitesse back in control before Danny Aolla made for a nervy last 20 minutes when he pulled one back for the home side. Volendam remain rooted to the foot of the Eredivisie table after Viktor Elm's solitary second half strike for Heerenveen pushed them up to fourth.
