Anwar El Ghazi scored twice as Ajax made a flying start to the Eredivisie season with a 3-0 win at AZ Alkmaar.
The Dutch winger collected a pass from Mitchell Dijks to open the scoring in the 14th minute and headed home Nemanja Gudelj's free-kick to make it two after 39 minutes.
Minutes later, AZ goalkeeper Sergio Rochet should have done better with a Gudelj shot which made it 3-0 and sealed all three points for the visitors.
In the day's other game, Willem II and Vitesse played out a 1-1 draw at the Koning Willem II Stadion.
There was no place in the Vitesse squad for new loan signing Dominic Solanke, but his Chelsea team-mates Isaiah Brown and Lewis Baker started.
Willem opened the scoring in the 64th minute when Erik Falkenburg stabbed home a debut goal at the far post, but the visitors were level 10 minutes later when Ukrainian Denys Oliynyk found the far corner with a first-time shot.
Oliynyk was then sent off in injury time as the game finished all square.
