Bayern skipper won't stay if boss leaves

Bayern Munich skipper Mark van Bommel claims he will leave the club if boss Louis van Gaal does not stay on. The Holland international has issued a stern warning to the Bundesliga side that he would not hang around should the Dutchman leave. Van Bommel, whose contract with the German Champions runs until June 2011, has been a regular figure under Van Gaal's reign. With his help, the club have endured a phenomenal season which saw them make the UEFA Champions League final after clinching a domestic double. Van Gaal's deal runs until the end of the 2010/2011 season but it is not yet known if he will stay beyond that spell.

"I am going to quit at the point Louis van Gaal stops at the club," Van Bommel told Sport-BILD. "I am 33 years of age and I have no desire to experience any other manager in the role than him." Van Bommel joined Bayern from Barcelona in July 2006 after a six-year stint with PSV Eindhoven, where he admits he would like to see out his career. He added: "I have to keep in mind that I have promised former club PSV Eindhoven that I will play the final season of my career for them. "Still, I don't know what will happen until the facts are presented."
