Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored on his return to hometown club Malmo as PSG eased into the Champions League last 16 after thrashing their Group A rivals 5-0 in Sweden.

First-half goals from Adrien Rabiot and Angel Di Maria put the French champions in control before Ibrahimovic struck just after the interval against the club where he started his professional career.

It was the first time the 34-year-old Sweden star had played a competitive match in Malmo since his departure and he paid for the game to be shown on a big screen in the city's main square.

Back on the pitch, Di Maria struck again before Lucas added a late fifth to ensure PSG - who wore 'Je Suis Paris' shirts in tribute to the victims of the Paris terror attacks -  sealed their place in the knockout stages for the fourth straight year.

Real Madrid's 4-3 victory against Shakhtar means Laurent Blanc's side, however, will go through as runners-up - meaning a possible first knockout tie against Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Atletico Madrid made sure of their place in the last 16 with a comfortable 2-0 win against Galatasaray at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

That result sealed Sevilla's fate but the Spaniards were unable to do their bit to keep their faint hopes alive, going down 4-2 to Borussia Monchengladbach.

A brace by Lars Stindl, plus goals from Fabian Johnson and Raffael at Borussia Park earned the Germans a historic first Champions League win, even though they too will go no further.

Wolfsburg are on the cusp of qualifying for the knockout stage after winning 2-0 at CSKA Moscow.

Substitute Andre Schurrle drew an own goal from Igor Akinfeev and then scored himself to send his side top of Group B.

Manchester United - frustrated 0-0 at home by PSV - sit one point below the German side and travel there in the final game knowing a defeat or draw - combined with a PSV win against CSKA - would send them packing.

Nine clubs have now qualified for the last 16 with a game to spare, holders Barcelona and Bayern Munich advancing on Tuesday and Zenit St Petersburg already through.
