Casey Stoney is unequivocal in her belief that the current crop of Lionesses can win the Women's World Cup.
England legend Stoney was part of the squad that claimed a historic bronze medal under former boss Mark Sampson at the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
Stoney is now an assistant to new head coach Phil Neville, and has promised to help the England boss implement a new style of play, starting in his first game in charge against France at the SheBelieves Cup on Thursday night.
She told Sky Sports News: "One of the first things he (Neville) asked me is 'can we win the World Cup?'
"I don't think he would have taken the job if he didn't think we were capable of doing that. My answer was yes - with the right manager and the right support system in place.
"[Against France] you'll see a very different team to what you did in the Euros. We were quite a direct team then, playing off Jodie Taylor.
"I think we're going to utilise our players a lot more over the pitch. We've got such great players who can create."
Neville admits he has been impressed with the newest addition to his backroom team, insisting former England captain Stoney is a workaholic.
"She's up two or three hours after me planning and preparing, doing her session plans because she wants to improve and she wants to be the best.
"The biggest challenge me and Mo (Marley, England assistant) have got is actually telling her to go to bed and to go for a coffee, switching off and having a bit of Casey Stoney time."
