Hull's Robert Snodgrass upbeat over Scotland fitness

Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass hopes to be fit to play for Scotland next weekend despite limping out of the Tigers' 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.
Snodgrass was forced to come off just after half-time at the KCOM Stadium after injuring himself when crashing against a post during the first half.
He was replaced by Shaun Maloney, who was omitted from the Scotland squad due to a lack of playing action, and then had to watch from the sidelines as Marcus Rashford scored an injury-time winner for United to end Hull's unbeaten start to the season.
However, the 28-year-old still aims to be available for Scotland's opening World Cup qualifier against Malta at the Ta'Qali Stadium next Sunday.
Snodgrass wrote on Instagram on Sunday morning: "Gutted had to go off, but in future I can't tackle goalposts there is only one winner, and gutted for the lads they gave everything.
"See how the quad is over the next few days but hope to be ok for the international duty."
Snodgrass has been capped 17 times by his country but missed out on Scotland's unsuccessful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign through injury.
He has also said last week he is keen to take over the Scotland captaincy following Celtic midfielder Scott Brown's decision to retire from international football.
"It is a dream to play for your country first and foremost. It is even bigger to try to captain the side," he said.
"I will throw my name in the hat, definitely. It is a massive honour."
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths suffered a hamstring injury during the Hoops' 4-1 victory over Aberdeen on Saturday but he also hopes to be passed fit to link up with Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad ahead of the trip to Malta.
"I've been struggling with my hamstring a bit. I'll go away with Scotland and see the physio there. I always want to play for my country, I don't want to let anyone down," he said.
