Thomas Lemar showed Arsenal and Liverpool what they missed out on as he scored a brilliant goal for France against the Netherlands

Arsenal target Thomas Lemar scored a stunning goal for France in their 4-0 victory over the Netherlands on Thursday.

The attacker was the subject of a £92m offer from the Gunners on Deadline Day but Sky sources understand a move has broken down.

One source told Sky Sports News that Lemar is not interested in a switch to the Emirates and would prefer to move to Liverpool.

While another source said Arsenal have withdrawn their interest in the 21-year-old, who is now expected to stay at Monaco.

Amid speculation over his future, Lemar started France's World Cup Qualifier in Paris and grabbed two goals in a routine win at the Stade De France.

His first, which came after Antoine Griezmann's opener, was a sweet left-foot strike into the top corner, giving Netherlands goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen no chance.

He then added France's third goal before new Paris Saint-Germain signing Kylian Mbappe grabbed their fourth.
