Jon Parkin has issued his modern footballer's manifesto - it is all about the diet!

Football will be all the worse at the end of this season - the one and only Jon Parkin has decided to call it a day!

The York City striker has had a 20-year career and has scored over 200 goals in just over 600 games, for 14 different clubs.

Those goals included a memorable hat-trick for Preston North End as they fought back from 4-1 down to win 6-4 at Leeds back in the autumn of 2010.

And, despite his longevity, it is fair to say Parkin's dietary regime might not find favour with the planet's leading sports nutritionists!

Fruit, vegetables and pasta? Nope. It is all about fish cakes, burgers and fry ups!
