A Lancashire hotpot to get the weekend started
- Blackburn vs Preston, live on Sky Sports Football from 7.30pm on Friday night; kick-off 8pm
There is more than just pride to play for at Ewood Park on Friday night. Blackburn Rovers are vying to avoid the drop, with just three points between themselves and the relegation zone heading into Friday night's game. But they started well under new boss Michael O'Neill, as they won 3-1 at QPR last Saturday.
The visitors are Preston North End. A point takes them into sixth spot ahead of the rest of the weekend. Victory would put them in a very strong position to make sure they are still there by Saturday evening.

West Brom are still winless under Eric Ramsay, but two goalless draws in their last two games are a platform to build on as they bit to escape from the drop
Coventry will be bouncing after their win over Middlesbrough on Monday night that took them back to the top of the Championship. But their form on the road badly needs to improve if they are to stay there. They have failed to win in seven away from the CBS Arena. The Hawthorns would be a good place to start.
- TABLES: Championship | League One | League Two
- FIXTURES: Championship | League One | League Two
- HIGHLIGHTS: CH highlights | L1 highlights | L2 highlights
Elsewhere in the Championship, promotion-chasing Hull City welcome a QPR side still with a shot at the play-offs. Stoke City have fallen away in recent weeks from the top six, but host a Leicester City side who have plunged into the bottom three due to a mix of dismal form and a points deduction, and Swansea City face play-off hopefuls Bristol City.
In League One, Tom Cleverey's improving Plymouth Argyle host the leaders Cardiff City, while play-off chasers Wycombe Wanderers and Stevenage meet at Adams Park.
In League Two, Fleetwood host relegation-threatened Barrow, while Ian Holloway's high-flying Swindon Town face play-off chasing Crewe Alexandra.
Could Sheff Utd send Sheff Wed down on Sunday?
- Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday, live on Sky Sports Football from 11.30am on Sunday; kick-off 12pm
There is every chance that Sheffield United could relegate Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, if it hasn't already happened by then.
