Rangers captain Nicola Docherty says her team must win silverware for this season to be considered a success as they prepare to take on Glasgow City in the Sky Sports Cup final.

The cup holders face the SWPL leaders at Fir Park on Sunday, hoping to lift the trophy for a record-equalling fourth successive season.

After a stoppage-time penalty from Katie Wilkinson brought the Ibrox club back to within five points of top spot last weekend, their dreams of a domestic treble are still alive.

The Rangers skipper told Sky Sports: "Sunday was a game that we knew we had to win, there was pressure on us to win that game and we've come out on top.

"All you can do is take confidence from that game, we know that we had a really good game but we know this is a cup final and anything can happen.

"We know Glasgow City are a top side, so we always give them the respect we deserve.

"We're on good form from the last game and we'll be taking that as using that as confidence for the cup final.

"It's such a cliché, but I always tell the girls that pressure is privilege.

"There's always pressure when you're at this club to win silverware. That's something that we enjoy, we enjoy that pressure of winning games. It's a game like no other.

"It's a cup final. It's two good teams going at it but it's one that we're really looking forward to."

"I would say you have to win a trophy being at Rangers," added the Scotland international.

"For me, when you represent this club, it's built on history and winning trophies. We're trying to emulate that as much as we can as the women's team.

"We've obviously had success over the last couple of years, the cups have been pretty good to us so far.

"But we're really wanting to try and maintain that with the group we've got this season and try and win more silverware this season.

"Being at Rangers, are you expected to do so? I think you are because that's what the club is built on and we certainly put that pressure on ourselves to make sure that we win as well.

"What is success? To me , that's winning trophies. I look back at last season and of course we failed on the league title but I would still say winning two trophies out of three is a success.

"I would like us to go and win as many trophies as we can. We don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves but the first one up for grabs is the Sky Sports Cup and that's the one we're focusing on at the moment."
