Former Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas thinks Wilfried Bony's loan move from Manchester City to Stoke will prove good business for both parties

Wilfried Bony's season-long loan move from Manchester City to Stoke is a "fabulous" deal for all involved, according to Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas.

Bony secured a short-term move away from the Etihad on Deadline Day after struggling for first-team football under Pep Guardiola, and Nicholas believes he will impress at the Bet365 Stadium.

"I think it's a fabulous move for both, for Stoke and for Bony," he told Sky Sports News HQ. "Bony for me - strength, power, pace, everything, and I think he should have his hunger back to say 'I want to be established again'.

"I think Mark Hughes has a lovely footballing team, a lot of good players there, I think he'll fit in perfectly. It might take a couple of games. I think it's a fabulous deal for both involved here."

Alongside Nicholas on Sky Sports News was former Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway, who was of the same opinion regarding Bony's ability.

"I love the fella, I think he's absolutely brilliant - honestly," Holloway said.

"When he went to Man City, Sergio Aguero… you're not going to take his place, are you? So we're going to get a chance to see Wilfried Bony again. At Swansea, he was magnificent. It's a great signing by Mark Hughes."
