Spain booked their place in the semi-finals of the U21 European Championship with a 3-1 win over Portugal on Tuesday.

Saul Niguez, Sandro Ramirez and Inaki Williams scored for Spain while Bruma replied with a brilliant volley for Portugal.

But who caught the eye from the star-studded Group B game? We pick out five players...

Sandro Ramirez

Everton's potential new signing led the line well. In the first half he went close when he controlled a pass on the edge of the box and fired just past the post.

He then doubled Spain's advantage when he cleverly swept home Gerard Deulofeu's cross at the near post in the 64th minute. The 22-year-old said ahead of the match that he is not aware of Everton's interest and is focused on the European Championship, and he was given a warm ovation when he was replaced by Williams.

Saul Niguez

Given his experience with Atletico Madrid in La Liga and the Champions League, it perhaps should not be much of a surprise that Saul stood out for Spain. Yet the way the 22-year-old controlled the tempo in midfield was still impressive.

Bruma scored a stunning volley for Portugal

He also showed his eye for goal for the second game in a row, dancing past a couple of tackles before finishing with the aid of a deflection to give Spain the lead.

Gerard Deulofeu

Spain's captain played a pivotal role in helped to orchestrate a ruthless display. The Everton winger consistently turned defence into attack with his transitional play and he also delivered some brilliant set-pieces. He provided the assist for Spain's second goal, cutting back for Sandro to finish at the near post.

The 23-year-old is already very experienced at club level, which will surely be paramount to Spain's success if they are to win this competition.

Marco Asensio

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a stellar season with Real Madrid and has brought that form into this tournament. After a hat-trick in the opening game against Macedonia, he went about his business during the second in a more industrious manner.

Asensio was a handful and Portugal struggled to get near him all game. As the competition progresses, Spain are likely to continue to look to him as their key man for attacking inspiration.

Bruno Fernandes

Most of Portugal's best moments came when they gave the ball to Fernandes to dictate play. The Sampdoria midfielder helped Portugal maintain possession and, for the chances that they did create, it was Fernandes' input that put them on the front foot.

The midfielder's vision for a key pass did not disappoint throughout the 90 minutes and the only blot on his copybook was a booking that will see him suspended for Portugal's final group game against Macedonia.
