Aston Villa are willing to let Scott Hogan leave on loan before Thursday's transfer deadline, with Sky Sports News understanding Bristol City and Sheffield United are leading the race to sign the striker.
Hogan joined Villa from Brentford in the mid-season window two years ago for a fee of £9m - potentially rising to £12m.
The Republic of Ireland international went on to score six times in 37 games during the 2017-18 Sky Bet Championship season.
The 26-year old has since fallen out of favour at Villa Park, and is yet to score this season having been reduced to just six league appearances off the bench. His only start came in the FA Cup defeat to Swansea earlier this month.
Villa, currently 10th in the table, are keen to raise funds to boost their defensive options as they push for the play-offs.

Leicester turned down an offer from Villa on Monday to take defender Christian Fuchs on loan until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, three weeks ago, Villa signed defender Kortney Hause on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.
