Stoke's failed £5m bid for Scott McKenna will see the player remain at Aberdeen, after the Potters did not meet a desired valuation.
Stoke were understood to be considering whether to make another approach before the deadline, but McKenna will now remain in Scotland.
One source told Sky Sports News Aberdeen were holding out for a fee in the region of £8m for the defender.
McKenna spent Deadline Day at Pittodrie getting treatment; the players are officially off and back in for training on Friday.
