Highlights of York against Port Vale in Sky Bet League Two.

York made it 25 home league games without defeat as Zak Johnson and Alex Hunt secured a 2-0 win against Port Vale.

The unbeaten sequence, which also encompasses National League fixtures, now equals the Minstermen's best run since 1971, with the hosts putting in a strong second-half shift to take maximum points.

Earlier, home goalkeeper Alfie McNally made two smart saves to prevent Scott Lindsey's men falling behind before the break.

After denying on-loan Liverpool striker Keyrol Figueroa, McNally did even better to keep out an edge-of-the-box Oli Lynch drive that deflected off Ryan Fallowfield.

It was the hosts, though, that made the breakthrough in the 54th minute with Johnson's first-ever EFL goal.

The ex-Sunderland defender side-footed an eight-yard volley past Marko Marosi following an excellent free-kick delivery from the right by Hunt.

Seven minutes later, Hunt was on the scoresheet himself, pouncing to drill in from six yards after Ollie Pearce had contested Arthur Read's high left-wing cross to the far post.

There were then more heroics from on-loan Fulham keeper McNally, as he produced another impressive save to thwart Max Watters late on.
