Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo made a young fan's day when he signed his shirt as the World Cup squad arrived at the airport to leave for Russia.

The young boy, named Rafael Agostinho, managed to slip through the security cordon to run up and meet his idol.

He asked Ronaldo for an autograph on his Portugal shirt and the Real Madrid forward was more than happy to oblige before posing for photographs with the youngster.

Portugal, who won Euro 2016 by beating France 1-0 in extra time, open their World Cup 2018 campaign against Spain in Sochi on June 15.

The two sides were drawn in Group B alongside Morocco and Iran.
