Arsenal have made no approach for Caglar Soyuncu, says Freiburg chief

Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier insists there has been no contact with Arsenal over the potential transfer of Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu.

Soyuncu has been linked with a summer move to the Emirates after Mehmet Ozkan, the president of his former club Altinordu Izmir, claimed the Gunners have agreed a deal for the 21-year-old.

"Caglar Soyuncu is about to change to Arsenal," Ozkan said earlier this week. "Arsenal has gathered information about his youth from us."

However, Saier insists no deal has been agreed for Soyuncu and says Arsenal are yet to make an approach for the Turkey international, who has won nine caps for his country.

Saier told Bild: "He (Okzan) knows little about the overall scenario. This is total nonsense. Arsenal did not contact me, there is no offer."
