Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has backed Craig Bellamy to be successful in management.
Warnock thinks ex-professionals such as Bellamy are well advised to start their careers at lower division clubs.
Bellamy is currently a player development manager at Cardiff but he was interviewed for the job of Wales manager and is now in talks with League One Oxford United.
Warnock thinks the former Wales captain would prove to be a shrewd appointment.
"He has got all the attributes," said Warnock. "He has been coaching now for a while. He was disappointed I think not to get the Welsh job.
"I think it's great - players going into lower division clubs. I think it is fantastic because you have got to learn the job, and I think he'll do well.
"I think he will be a good appointment."
