Spartak affirm Rebrov interest

SPARTAK MOSCOW have confirmed their interest in out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur striker Sergei Rebrov.

The unsettled 27-year-old had admitted he would be interested in a move to the Russian champions and Spartak have revealed they have held talks with Spurs over a possible move.

Rebrov has been frozen out of things at Spurs failing to feature this season and his future at White Hart Lane looks bleak.

Spartak' technical director Alexander Elensky admitted that talks are underway but a move was far from being finalised considering the player's lack of fitness and fee involved.

"We're having talks (with Tottenham) but Rebrov has had no practice and we don't know how fit he is," Elensky told the club's official site.

"There are a lot of questions to be answered. There is a very high transfer cost to buy him purely because of the fact his name is Rebrov."

The Ukrainian international is keen on a move away to resurrect his ailing career and Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle is unlikely to stand in his way if a fee can be agreed with Spartak.
