Terry wants Maldini career

Chelsea captain John Terry wants to emulate Paolo Maldini as a one-club man.

Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed that he wants to emulate Milan legend Paolo Maldini in being a one-club man.

The England man reflected on the most successful season he has had with The Blues, as Chelsea claimed the Premiership title and the Carling Cup last term.

Terry was in Prague, Czech Republic, to meet Czech-based Chelsea fans after an invite from Blues goalkeeper Petr Cech.

It was there that the centre back admitted his desire to see out his career at Stamford Bridge and emulate the career Maldini has established with both Milan and Italy during his time.

"I love Chelsea and never want to leave Chelsea," Terry told the Czech daily Idnes.

"I also hope that one day I will be as good as Maldini."

The 24-year-old believes that winning the Premiership title is more prestigious than claiming the UEFA Champions League.

"It is the most precious trophy," Terry added.

"We work hard for each game every week and it is a long-term competition. I think it is the best league in the world.

"I want to win the Premier League again, and add the win in the Champions League.

"Also, the FA Cup will be interesting as the final will be played at the new stadium at Wembley (next season)."
