Stoke seal Les Mauves coup

Stoke City have completed their double raid on Belgian champions Anderlecht.

Stoke City have completed their double raid on Belgian champions Anderlecht.

Czech midfielder Martin Kolar and Gabriel Ngalula Mbuyi - known as Junior- have both signed on season-long loan deals.

The move is a real coup for Stoke boss Johan Boskamp, who has used his Belgian connections to great affect.

Kolar was a regular for Anderlecht last term, but the arrival of Bart Goor has meant he is now available on a temporary deal.

Ngalula, brother of Manchester United's Floribert, is very highly rated and is a Belgian Under-21 international.

The 23-year-old, who can play midfield or defence, spent last season on loan at Mons and is now being allowed to spend another term away from The Constant Vanden Stock Stadion.

Boskamp was understandably delighted to have captured the pair.

"Junior is one of the most talented players in Belgium at the moment," said Boskamp.

"Anderlecht said that we could take him for the season and I was very suprised because I thought it wouldn't be possible."

On Kolar, he added: "I think the people will be crazy about him as people were crazy about Hoekstra.

"He has the same kind of magic in his left foot that Hoekstra did."
