Benfica strike Kalou deal

Benfica have agreed a deal to sign Feyenoord forward Salomon Kalou.

Benfica have agreed a deal to sign Feyenoord forward Salomon Kalou.

Feyenoord sold the rights to Kalou earlier this week to a group of British investors for ‚é¼9 million and they will now loan the player to Benfica.

Kalou will sign a five-year deal with Benfica, although their loan deal for the player is only scheduled to last for an initial three-year period.

The news finally ends PSV Eindhoven's hopes of landing the player.

PSV had been tracking the Ivorian all summer and had even threatened court action to try and force their rivals to sell them the player.

However, Kalou will now travel to Portugal on Monday and sign at the Estadio da Luz.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord have decided not to offer a contract to Sota Hirayama.

The 20-year-old Japanese striker failed to impress and has now signed a contract with Heracles.
