Magath sees Karimi potential

Felix Magath believes they already have a replacement for Michael Ballack should he leave.

Bayern Munich boss Felix Magath believes they already have a replacement for Michael Ballack should he leave the club.

Magath feels that Ali Karimi could fill Ballack's void should he decide to leave the German giants.

Karimi has been a massive success at Bayern since his arrival in the summer from Al-Ahly of Dubai.

Ballack's future at Bayern has been shrouded in doubt with the Germany international refusing to sign a new deal at the club.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with Ballack and if Bayern do lose their talisman Magath believes Karimi could help replace the goalscoring midfielder.

"If Michael decides to leave it is my job to first take a look at what we have in our squad," Magath told Bild.

"For example Ali Karimi is a possibility."

Bayern are reported to be lining up a new deal for Karimi to extend his stay at the Bavarian outfit.
