Hleb lands Belarus award

Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb has been named Belarus Player of the Year award.

Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb has been named Belarus Player of the Year for the third time.

Hleb, although currently on the sidelines through injury, has impressed many with his displays for The Gunners this term.

Hleb made a big-money move to the Highbury outfit this summer from Stuttgart and has brought his form from the Bundesliga to England.

The 24-year-old playmaker scooped 200 votes from a poll conducted by Belarus' football experts out of a possible 303 respondents.

Denis Kovba of Krylya Sovietov Samara finished second behind Hleb with just 20 votes while Sampdoria striker Vitaly Kutuzov came in third.
