Palermo striker Carvalho Amauri insists he is unfazed by the uncertainty surrounding his future in international football.The Brazilian marksman has been prolific for his Serie A side so far this season, scoring two late goals at Fiorentina on Sunday as Palermo notched their fourth straight win in all competitions.
Reports emanating out of Italy had suggested either Azzurri coach Roberto Donadoni or Brazil boss Carlos Dunga might call on the frontman for their forthcoming international fixtures in mid-November.
While Amauri's failure to secure Italian citizenship thus far has thrown a spanner in the works for the Azzurri, the 26-year-old says he has not been flustered by all the speculation.
"Everyone has been talking about it, but I didn't expect to be called up by Brazil," Amauri told Corriere dello Sport.
"In Brazil there are sensational forwards. I'm not disappointed, I'm still calm and will continue what I'm doing.
"Should Donadoni call me, I would think about it. Italy have an important place in my heart, but it is too soon.
"I haven't even got dual citizenship yet and I don't know how long it will be before I will be Italian."
