Chelsea have been strongly linked with Villa throughout the season and Spanish sources suggested last month that Valencia had knocked back a bid of ‚é¼70million (£45million).
And Valencia are adamant they will not sell their most prized asset unless his release clause of £85million is met.
"David is not for sale because we need him," said president Juan Soler.
"Valencia will only accept if his release clause is met and I warn clubs that are interested."
Villa has always said he is happy at La Mestalla but he admits it is pleasing to be linked with Chelsea.
"It is always flattering to know that a club of that level is following me," he stated.
