Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his Sky Bet EFL predictions ahead of this weekend's fixtures, but who is he tipping for victory? Find out here...

Fulham v Brentford, Saturday 5.30pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

What a job Fulham have done to get themselves above Cardiff and into the top two. It's 20 games unbeaten now for Slavisa Jokanovic's side and 16 of those have been wins. What a remarkable run it's been.

Brentford are a tough proposition for them, however. The Bees still have a shot at the play-offs and they turned Fulham over at Griffin Park in December. I think this will be close, but I fancy Fulham to just about edge it.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 with Aleksandar Mitrovic to score (20/1 with Sky Bet)

Wolves v Birmingham - Sunday 12pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

If results go their way then Wolves will already be up by the time they return to Molineux on Sunday. One way or another they'll be booking their place in the Premier League soon.

Birmingham need a result to stave off the threat of relegation and they'll be watching on nervously on Saturday. They'll give it a good go but Wolves will have too much quality for them here.

Prutton predicts: 3-1 with Ruben Neves to score first (60/1 with Sky Bet)

Sheffield United v Millwall, Saturday 1pm

This time last year, when these two sides were battling to win promotion from Sky Bet League One, I can't imagine there would have been too many who would have realistically imagined that they'd be in play-off contention in the Championship at this stage!

But this is where we find ourselves. Millwall are the form team and start the weekend in the top six, which is remarkable. The Blades will be going all out for three points, and this game should have goals. Score draw for me.

Prutton predicts: 2-2 (14/1 with Sky Bet)

Barnsley v Bolton, Saturday 3pm

Bolton will find themselves back in the bottom three if they lose to Barnsley on Saturday, which will be really disappointing for them as it looked a few weeks ago like they were away from danger.

The Tykes will have been really disappointed to lose at Ipswich on Tuesday night as it's the time of year you want to be facing mid-table sides with little to play for. This will be a nervy game, but I reckon Bolton will edge it.

Prutton predicts: 0-1 (9/1 with Sky Bet)

Middlesbrough v Bristol City, Saturday 3pm

It feels like every game in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend has a lot riding on it, and this game is no different! Both of these sides have spent a decent portion of the season in the top six but now find themselves on the outside looking in.

It's not quite last-chance saloon time for either, but a draw doesn't particularly help either's cause. So for that reason I think the points will be shared!

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (5/1 with Sky Bet)

Norwich v Cardiff, Saturday 3pm

What a disappointing week it's been for Cardiff. From seeming certain for automatic promotion it now looks like they're going to have to scrap with Fulham for that spot, and they'd probably have preferred an easier game than Norwich.

The Canaries have nothing but pride to play for this season, but that didn't stop them beating Villa at the weekend! Still, though, Cardiff have shown resolve before and I've got to back them to get back to winning ways here.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (8/1 with Sky Bet)

Reading v Sunderland, Saturday 3pm

Speaking of last chances... Sunderland looked like they may have given themselves one against Norwich in midweek, and that late equaliser would have come as such a blow. It was a similar story against Leeds on Saturday, and in the end only two points were accrued from winning positions.

Reading are not quite out of the woods yet, but one more win should do it. They've won both their home games under Paul Clement so far and I feel like they'll do so again.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Accrington v Exeter, Saturday 3pm

Accrington will secure promotion sooner or later, but it would be fantastic for John Coleman and co if they could do it in front of them home fans on Saturday. Victory against Exeter, who are in fourth, will see Stanley rise into the third tier for the first time in their history.

Exeter will be no pushovers, however, and still have their sights set on automatic promotion this season. Paul Tisdale won't want another season in the play-offs and he'll go for this one. But Accrington have just been too good lately, and I think they'll edge this one to start the promotion party.

Prutton predicts: 3-2 (28/1 with Sky Bet)
