Lopez makes move to Loftus Road

Queens Park Rangers have confirmed the signing of Spanish midfielder Jordi Lopez on a free transfer. Lopez had been without a club after being released by Real Mallorca in December and QPR have now moved to bring him in. He has agreed a deal to stay at Loftus Road until the end of the season and manager Paulo Sousa is delighted to have secured his services. "Jordi is a very, very capable player and will give us great options in the middle of the park," Sousa told the club's official website. "He can play central or wide and is technically a very good player. "He is a very creative midfielder and we are looking forward to welcoming him into our family." Lopez spent time with Real Madrid earlier in his career before going on to Sevilla and then Real Mallorca. The 26-year-old, who looked set to join Birmingham in January, will now aim to help QPR push for promotion from the Championship.
